The Woman's March may be over, but people are still interested in having their own "Pussy" hat.
Here are three videos we found on YouTube that can guide you in making your own.
  • Knit one
  • Recycle a t-shirt
  • Sew one from a recycled sweater

10 Knitting projects you can make today

I love to knit. I can't make sweaters, but I can make your basic scarf or big blanket. It's easy and it's fun to sit, watch TV and make something at the same time.

Here are 10 of the best video tutorials that I found on YouTube. From the basic stitch to something a little more advance. Check them out and see what you want to make.

It's a great way to make gifts for friends and family, and you can say "it's and original" or "one of a kind."

Shop for deals on yarn. If you're just practicing or in the learning stages, buy inexpensive yarn. You can also get knitting needles on sale. I have even bought them for one dollar at thrift stores.

Happy Crafting!

She says it's "A blog by an artsy craftsy, penny pinching, party planning, playdating, fashion finding, sci-fi loving, stay at home mother of three little girls who always keeps her sewing machine plugged in and loves all things charming."

Knitting isn't only for your grandma

I was wearing one of my knitted scarves the other day at a networking event.  One of my friends grabbed it and said "Where did you get this?"  I said with pride "I made it."

Her eyes popped wide open in disbelief.  You see, everyone knows me in the Dallas area as a hard working reporter.  I don't think there are many who know that deep, deep inside of me there is a "Martha Stewart" type woman just longing to craft 24/7.

So back to my scarf.  My friend asked me where I learned to knit.  I learned from my mother, books and now when I need a refresher course I head to Youtube.

One of my favorites is Knit67.  What I like about her videos is that they are shot from the angle you will be looking at the knitting needles.  The camera is so close that there is no way you're going to miss a step.  It's not flashy or fancy---so there are no distractions.

Knitting is a great way to relax while you create.  So now get some yarn, two needles and pull out your creativity.
